Artist Hot Tea who is known for his amazing yarn art, wanted to get back to his graffiti roots. He wanted to do it in a non-destructive form similar to his yarn pieces. The pieces are completely removable so nothing is permanently adhered, and he chose the locations based on texture to contrast each piece. He also felt that the locations represent what Detroit is and used to be.
